1. About these terms
These Terms of Use apply to Detrivo, a duplicate-file utility operated by James Narzary, India. By using Detrivo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Detrivo does
Detrivo identifies possible exact duplicate photos, videos, and files and lets you select copies for deletion. Results, storage estimates, scan duration, progress, and background timing are estimates.
3. Important deletion warning
Deletion can be permanent. Review every result and selection, keep backups of important files, and approve deletion only when you are certain. Detrivo protects one displayed item in each duplicate group, but operating systems, cloud-synced libraries, removable storage, and third-party file providers may behave differently.
4. Your responsibilities
- Review every scan result and deletion selection.
- Keep independent backups of important files.
- Use Detrivo only on files you are authorized to access.
- Keep your device and operating system secure and updated.
- Do not bypass security, distribute malware, or violate law.
5. Permissions and availability
Android, iOS, browsers, and file providers may restrict file access, notifications, deletion, or background work. Periodic background execution is not guaranteed. You can revoke permissions in device settings, but this may prevent related features from working.
6. Free use and optional Pro purchase
Where offered, Detrivo includes a limited number of free duplicate deletions. Detrivo Pro may be sold as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase rather than a subscription. The app store purchase screen shows the final price and applicable taxes before you pay.
Apple App Store or Google Play rules govern payment, restoration, and refunds. Apple and Google purchases are separate unless Detrivo later introduces an account-based cross-platform entitlement system. A purchase remains available while the app and purchased feature are supported, subject to consumer law, store availability, and refunds.
7. Intellectual property
Detrivo’s branding, original software, and content belong to the operator or applicable licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the app in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
8. Disclaimers and statutory rights
Detrivo is provided with reasonable care, but no software is error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Detrivo is provided without guarantees that scans will find every duplicate or that the app will always be available. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
9. Limitation of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for loss caused by deleting the wrong file, failing to maintain a backup, third-party storage behaviour, unauthorized use, or circumstances outside the operator’s reasonable control. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes, suspension, and governing law
You may stop using Detrivo at any time by uninstalling it. Distribution may be suspended for security, legal, or store-policy reasons. Material changes to these terms will be communicated where required.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts with lawful jurisdiction in India may hear disputes, without limiting any mandatory consumer forum or remedy available to you.
